Arsenal Oasis, constructed for the 2020 Tbilisi Architecture Biennial, is an evolving test garden made from the Tbilisi’s surplus land and water. The project initiates a new landscape from a leaking water main that once served the army base.

Site plan

We released a video on the project and our process and submitted the project to the Lila International Landscape Awards. Below are some photos of springtime at Arsenal Oasis.

In late spring, we discovered tadpoles, turtles, and fields of poppies and flax. We will continue to update seasonal and other changes at Arsenal on the blog. Arsenal is always open: please message us if you need help finding it.

Minature poppies.

The project will be featured in more detail in the upcoming publication of work from the Tbilisi Architecture Biennial.
